Erik Marksberry DDS
Dr Erik believes we must take our patients’ concerns to heart, and we should approach each appointment as if we were treating a member of our own family. Our only measures of success are the comfort, satisfaction, and appreciation of our patients.
Dr Erik attended the University of Iowa for 9 years and graduated in 1999. He lived in 7 different states growing up, with the longest stay in Dallas, Texas for 8 years.
Dr Erik enjoys race car driving and has driven at Road America, Laguna Seca Raceway, BIR, and the Mid America Motorplex. His favorite vacation spot is Napa Valley and his favorite vacation companion is his wife Krista.
Kayla Libby DDS
Dr. Libby approaches all patients by the Golden Rule; treat them as you would like to be treated. She graduated with distinction from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, and was one of four students recognized for their excellence with the Quality Care Given in a Caring Manner award. Dr. Libby not only seeks to provide compassionate care, but to also stay abreast of the latest and most beneficial technologies available.
Dr. Libby can usually be found enjoying the great Minnesota outdoors. She also puts family first, spending time with her and her husband’s family nearly every weekend. She enjoys all Minnesota sports, particularly the Wild, Twins, and Vikings. Unfortunately, her husband Ryan is a Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions fan, but no one’s perfect, right?
Jen — Hygienist/Dental Therapist
Jen is one of our veteran hygienists. She entered the profession in 1992 and has since received advanced training in the treatment of periodontal disease. Most recently Jen returned to school for two years, obtaining her dental therapy degree. This means she can now also treat cavities with fillings.
Jen enjoys time at her family’s cabin in Wisconsin where she can snowmobile and fish with her kids. Her favorite movie is the Wizard of OZ!
Michelle — Office Coordinator
Michelle works with you and your insurance to find a payment plan that fits almost any budget. Michelle enjoys spending time with her 2 grandchildren and traveling around the US and Mexico. She crossed “Walk Across the Golden Gate Bridge” off her Bucket List. She runs a few miles every day and has even run in a half-marathon. Her concern for health extends beyond dentistry; Michelle is very active as a Herbalife independent distributor
Alissa — Front Office
Alissa enjoys the diverse and ever-advancing world of dentistry. She likes the fact that every day is a new day, filled with its own challenges and rewards. She originally received certification as a Registered Dental Assistant in 1999 and was a chairside assistant for 15 years. She has recently transitioned to duties at the front desk, where her extensive clinical experience is put to good use every day.
Alissa is a BMX mom. She spends as much time on the dirt track as she does at the office, and her son and daughter are certain to be gold medalists in the 2024 Olympics (if you ask them). As a result, she and her family travel extensively throughout the country, and at last count the minivan had over 220,000 miles on it!
Crystal — Dental Hygienist
Crystal has a tremendous passion for dentistry. With over 15 years experience, she enjoys her career as much today as the day she started. She particularly enjoys getting to know her patients as individuals, not only in giving them the highest level of care but also in educating patients about their health.
In her free time, Crystal enjoys reading, exploring the great outdoors, and spending time with her husband and son. An avid runner, one of her favorite places for a jog is along the boardwalk in Duluth.
Ronda — Dental Hygienist
Ronda loves connecting with people and developing lasting relationships with her patients. Her passion is to see people gain successful hygiene health through coaching, encouragement, and genuine care for those she serves. Ronda graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1991. She has been practicing hygiene for over 25 years. She began her career as a chairside assistant then moved into dental hygiene a few years later. Ronda loves to bake and to spend time with family and friends. She enjoys being outdoors gardening or simply going for a walk. She also likes dining out, traveling, and exploring new places.
Sommer — Dental Hygienist
Sommer began her dental hygiene career in 2009 after working in the education field for a number of years. Her background as an educator works in tandem with her role as a dental hygienist. Sommer enjoys working with patients; providing them tools and knowledge to achieve their optimal oral health.
When not flossing, Sommer enjoys running, walking her dog, and chasing her two daughters at the local parks. Her family recently relocated from the Boston area and Sommer is an avid sports fan who enjoys cheering for her favorite Boston teams.
Shelly — Dental Assistant
Two things define Shelly’s contribution to Summit Dental. First, she is constantly looking to make our patients more comfortable and tries to anticipates their needs at every appointment. Second, you will not find anyone with a more upbeat and positive attitude.
Shelly enjoys being a grandmother, vegan chef, singing in a praise group and sewing clothing
Lee — Dental Assistant
Lee enjoys not only her interactions with patients, but also the camaraderie she feels with her teammates. Whenever there is a particularly nervous patient, Lee is right there, offering encouragement and reassurance.
Lee started back in 1992 as a dental assistant. At one point she was a hygiene coordinator, managing the daily activities of the hygiene team. Since then her duties have expanded to include general support throughout the clinic as well as assistance at the front desk.
In her free time, Lee loves to cook and entertain, with her specialty dish being chocolate chip cookies. She enjoys gardening, home improvement projects, and golf. But above all is time spent with her family.
Andrea — Dental Assistant
Andrea has been an assistant since 1995 and the one constant is her connection she likes to build with her patients. She enjoys meeting new people and learning their stories. Andrea and her husband are empty-nesters with a passion for warm climates and travel. Together they have 5 children.
