Meet The Doctors
The Summit Dental team is friendly, outgoing, caring, charismatic, intelligent and intuitive. They have a keen understanding of our patients' needs, which allows them to provide outstanding care with the utmost attention to detail.
Dr. Erik Marksberry
Dr Erik Marksberry attended the University of Iowa. In 1995 he graduated with a B.S. in Biology, and in 1999 he graduated from Iowa’s dental school. Afterwards, Dr. Marksberry worked in several clinics in Wisconsin before moving here in the summer of 2003.
Dr. Marksberry attends several continuing education seminars each year, with a special emphasis on oral surgery, dental implants, and sedation dentistry. He is a current member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and the Dental Organization of Conscious Sedation. But of course, Dr. Marksberry realizes that no amount of technology can take the place of a caring dentist who strives to make each and every appointment a comfortable experience for their patients.
In his free time, he enjoys golf, sporting events, wine, and has even had the chance to do a little race car driving. Dr. Marksberry is an avid reader and writes extensively as well, producing everything from short stories to newspaper editorials.
Douglas Green, DDS
Dr. Green attended St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN, and received his bachelor's of art in biology with a minor in sports medicine in 1993. In 1999, he graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and began practicing dentistry as an associate. He joined the Summit Dental team in 2000 and became an owner in 2001.
Continuing Education
Since then, Dr. Green has been avidly continuing his education, participating in over 100 hours of continuing education each year . He wants to stay up-to-date with the current philosophies and dental materials, as well as the new technologies. Dr. Green lectures at the University of Iowa to help dental students know more about what it is like to practice in the real world of dentistry.
Dental Association Memberships
He is a member of the Minnesota Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Endodontics and the Academy of General Dentistry. He is working toward certification in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry so he can provide the most up-to-date and advanced cosmetic dental procedures for his patients. He has also been involved in the 3M Council of Innovative Dentistry, made up of 30 dentists worldwide, who meet regularly to design and evaluate potential new products in dentistry.
In his spare time, Dr. Green enjoys numerous outdoor activities. During the summer he can often be found on one of the area golf courses. He also enjoys hiking, rock climbing and spending time with family. In the winter, Dr. Green skates as a Level 3 Certified USA Hockey referee.
